Hey there. To kick off my acceptance to the BWW, I bring three (un)worthy comics:
The Name: The Dish
The Link: http://dish-comic.com/
The Genre: Gag-a-day
The Bad: Unintelligible jokes with unintelligible art, pumped out as fast as the artist, "Burke," can GIS up the backgrounds for them. Burke's seen a joke or two before, but doesn't really understand how to put one together. (Substitute "human being" for "joke" and the previous statement is still true.)
Frequently, the kernel of a joke is there, but through indecipherable art, ham-fisted delivery, or plain-old incomprehensibility, it never quite makes it from the artist's brain to the reader's eyes.
The Name: Nerd Theatre
The Link: http://www.nerd-theater.com/
The Type: starts as Gag-a-Day, turns into CAD-lite somewhere down the line.
The Bad: Two years' worth of stick people kinda sorta being offensive. This comic is the equivalent of a five year old discovering a new obscenity, and mistaking tediousness for offensiveness.
The art improved slightly once the artist dropped the bug-shaped bodies and tried to add shadows, but really, every possible corner is being cut to get these "jokes" done.
The Name: The Changeling
The Link: http://www.thechangeling.net/ (NSFW)
The Type: Soft-core bondage porn dressed up as fantasy.
The Bad: Individual examples can't be linked, due to the creator's insistence on using an awkward vector-based format for his work. It's just as well, since the sole purpose of this strip is to show slightly-nonhuman girls chained up and half-naked. Anatomy, story, dialog, background… no effort is spent on any of them. Naturally, the Donate button graphic is prominently displayed…
