Under the headline "ATTN: REMOVE MY CRAP"
"MY FUCKING CRAP
YOUR FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT WIKI
NEVER THE TWAIN SHALL MEET
yours cordially,
John Solomon"
So the question is, should we remove John Solomon's crap?

Where is that from?
It's from an email I received from moc.liamg|scimocbewdab#moc.liamg|scimocbewdab.
Asked him to elaborate on his request via mail, let's see what's the matter with him.
OK, I asked him to elaborate.
How am I supposed to know that this guy really is John Solomon?
Solomon would not act that rudely…would he?
I know! Ask him something that the real John Solomon would know! Oh wait, we don't know anything about him except what Google says. Sorry.
You finished reading this sentence.
Well, since he thinks we're 4channers I have no idea how he will react if he decides to ask us to remove the reviews. I don't think he would ask such a thing so bluntly and with so little tact, but Something Awful goons go apeshit when they think 4chan has anything to do with anything, so I have no clue.
Ask him to post something on the SA forums under his name, like "REMOVE MY CRAP, WIKI".
Should be pretty clear from there, eh?
That's a pretty smart idea, actually.
We should wait for the respective responses now, two mails one after another are enough.
I don't think I will, I think it really is him.
Here's his response:
Because your wiki is an abomination scrawled by the slovenly hands of ignorant cretins who don't understand the basics of what they're even supposed to be doing. It's a gallery of hooting shit-slingers who have been dredged up from the Internet's cavernous backside. If there's anyone on there who approaches the subject matter as anything but an excuse to reach for low-hanging fruit and clumsily mash together expletives and slurs, I have yet to find them.
I deleted my blog for a reason, and the last thing I want is for my follies to be glorified on your trainwreck. It repulses me to think that you're idealising a fictional persona I have come to loathe. In short, I don't like you, and I don't want to be associated with you.
There's your elaboration.
Whoever started the Dead Sea Scrolls section will have to delete it I suppose, Solomon doesn't like what he did and now he's going after anybody that dares bring it up.
Tongue-in-cheek fanboyism aside I liked this guy for his writing skill, but after reading that shitstorm he's not a candidate for admiration anymore, to say the least…
OK, dead sea scrolls deleted.
Guys, let's stop referencing Solomon at every turn, kay? I'm not getting into the Solomon dicksucking around here anyway, it's getting kind of sickening and weird.
Nobody gives a shit about Fuego Fish, he is not the be-all and end-all of this site and we can go on without him. Many webcomics people discredit our site because of the connection anyway, and Solomon is (like it or not) really just another sheltered Something Awful goon. He is not some webcomics messiah.
As a clean break, new rules:
1. No more referencing John Solomon in reviews. Look, if it's relevant it's ok, but don't just indulge in Solomon fanboyism.
2. No more asking how John Solomon is, what he is doing, or who he is, it's creepy.
3. All reviews on the site must be member-contributed. No more Dead Sea Scrolls. No referencing Tangents, no stealing articles from TVTropes. All reviews must be your work. NO EXCEPTIONS.
4. No more calling webcomics creators "the enemy." They are not the enemy. We are not the enemy. There are no enemies. This is webcomics. Nobody cares.
You're wrong in one point, we do have an enemy: some pissed goon who used to have internet popularity, the lowest kind of popularity, and will inevitably fade into obscurity. I'M FEELING SO BAD NOW
No, Solomon isn't the enemy, he does in fact have a right to do what he wishes with what he writes, and I'll honor that.
I simply don't agree with what he's said about the site. I never really cared for him, but he's hardly an enemy. I doubt this will start shit wars, I think he wants this crap to be over with. I can't really blame him, if I had people actively searching for me on Google and sending me death threats I would want out too.
Dammit man, the new rules totally put a wrench on wearing the soft, soft skin of Solomon and pretend to be him… Heh, OK, that was bad, but I couldn't not say it. I'm sorry.
In any case, while the manner in which he asked reeks of elitism, I can't say I disagree with him wanting his stuff remain unseen. It IS his work, and as such, has some rights on where and when to show it. Wether others hear that request depends on their upbringing and douche scale. I'm glad to be part of a place that is above fighting childishly.
I sent him a childish email that I probably shouldn't have sent, so your last point is moot.
But generally Lesbot is reasoned and intelligent, so that kind of makes up for it.
OK, I stand corrected. Well, at least not every member went "TRY TO TAKE YOUR SHIT DOWN FROM THIS SITE YOU FAGGOT WE RULE WE ARE ANONYMOUS YOU CAN'T DO SHIT TO US BLAAAGH!"
And if everyone did except for me, that still makes it "not every member" so there.
I'm a little sad to see the DSS go since they were funny to read, but it's his right to have them removed.
As for curse words & such, I don't think most of these reviews are that bad. Sure there's some that do have some cussing in them & such, but they do what they were intended for, which was to point out the comic's flaws & have a little fun at the comic's expense.
But generally Lesbot is reasoned and intelligent, so that kind of makes up for it.
And Zoidberg.
I must say I'm appalled. Not that it matters much, since this site entered a weird but not entirely uncalled for transition from bad to neutral while I was enjoying sometime (mostly) outside the internet and today we hav a new official place for reviews but… I was shocked upon finding this topic. More than how much confused I was about the topics on the changing of the wiki's objective, in fact.
Because I never thought of "the man" as the kind to express himself in short uncohese all caps sentences or strings upon strings of heavy words, especially regarding his past work. Not much for admiration or fannism, but just because that was the overall impression I got from his writings.
Anyway, he did get rid of the blog for a reason, and it's not that hard to see why he doesn't want it around. It doesn't lessen my impression of overreaction in any way, though.
All in all, whatever.
PS.: Of course, it might be someone else impersonating the guy, and, just in case, I admit I've been foiled. Let time reveal…
While I do understand from an artist's view that past work is almost always crappy, I think he could of gone about this with some tact instead of acting like some spoiled 16 year old piece of shit. Well, it was nice to know you John, nice to know that you've got a personality like that of an immature angry bull with a spike that was recently lodged into it's skull affecting it's reasoning center along with several rattlesnakes firmly latched onto it's sack.
I think I'm going to go over my articles today when I've got some free time, I don't think I mentioned John Solomon, but I might of linked to a few of his reviews, I did link a review from TV tropes to Looking For Group. How do you feel about linking to tropes in general to describe certain things? Or are you just saying "Don't steal from other reviewers" in that rule above?
I'm just saying don't steal. Don't do things that will get me angry emails from people like Solomon claiming you plagiarized them, don't claim other's work as your own, don't post others' work on this site unless you make it clear that it is from somebody else.
You're fine. Carry on.
Well, that's a shame. I didn't expect Solomon to show up and wig out at us for what was really only a tribute area of the site. As for how he worded it, I can't say I'm surprised. He always railed as hard against his supporters as he did against his critics.
Oh well. There goes that.
That makes no fucking sense. Why make a wildly popular blog then flip out at people who like it?
It's easy to make a new internet life. Sad to see the Dead Sea Scrolls go, those were hysterical.
